Former Residents

I had previously posted about working on the back green and hauling large amounts of debris out. As I was scratching about, I noticed that I have a great deal of quartz strewn about under the trees. On a geological note, there is a large ridge of quartz deposits or veins that run for about 2 miles in length near the farm, but I am not technically part of that vein.
I picked up a couple of interesting pieces and they turned out to be Indian Artifacts. I have a couple of nice arrow tips and what looks to be a broken spear. A little research on Loudoun's history places these artifacts in the pre-1300's. Some speculate as much as 1000-300 B.C.. Wouldn't you know that I had just shutdown my mad scientist lab for the summer and my carbon dating equipment is in packed away in storage.

Oh well, I picked up some flower bulbs from my mother yesterday, so stay tuned to your TVs and radios (this blog too) for any important discoveries as I start to work in the flower beds.
